Conflict of Interest

Jurnal Esensi Hukum follows the COPE Core Practices on conflicts of interest. This page summarizes the duties of each party. The full text appears in the Publication Ethics policy.

Authors

Authors disclose in the manuscript any financial or other substantive conflict of interest that could influence the results or their interpretation. Authors also disclose all sources of financial support for the project.

Editors

Editors select reviewers who have sufficient expertise and avoid reviewers who have conflicts of interest.

Reviewers

Reviewers keep privileged information and ideas from peer review confidential and do not use them for personal advantage. Reviewers do not agree to review a manuscript when they have a conflict of interest. Such a conflict can come from a competitive, collaborative, or other relationship with an author, company, or institution connected to the manuscript.

Handling of corrections, retractions, and post-publication discussions

Any editor, reviewer, or expert involved in such a case discloses a conflict of interest with the article, its authors, or the sender of the concern. This includes a personal, financial, institutional, or collaborative relationship, and a supervisory or student relationship. A person with such a conflict does not take part in the assessment or the decision. The Editor-in-Chief assigns the case to another editor or expert. If the Editor-in-Chief has the conflict, another member of the editorial board takes the decision.
